Comes from the Greek episteme, which means knowledge.

Types of Knowledge
|
There are different types of knowledge because the knowing subject's attitude towards the object changes.
They represent different possibilities of acquiring knowledge. |
Origin of Knowledge
|
Studies the process though which knowledge is acquired.
Four main tendencies can be identified. |
Elements of Knowledge
|
Every situation or event that implies knowledge includes these three elements:
•Knowing subject •Known object •Image or idea (knowledge itself). In Western tradition (see picture) subject and object are separated, while in the Eastern tradition they are part of one same reality. |
