The thin outer covering of a tooth. It covers the crown of the tooth and protects the dentin; it is the part you can see outside of the gums.

The soft living, sensitive tissue of the tooth, it is the living portion of the tooth and contains blood vessels and nerves.

The middle layer of the tooth and makes up the majority of the tooth's structure, protected by enamel or cementum, it protects the pulp.
