One of the most famous attraction is the Trevi Fountain
Is a fountain in the Trevi district in Rome, Italy, designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi and completed by Pietro Bracci. It is the largest Baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world. A traditional legend holds that visitors throw a coin into the fountain ensures your return to Rome. A current interpretation is that two coins lead to a new romance and three secure a marriage or divorce. Another version of this legend is that it is lucky to throw three coins with your right hand over your left shoulder to the source. An estimated three thousand euros a day are thrown to the source, although this number is increasing. The money has been used to fund a supermarket for the needy Romans. |
