Hydrologic cycle
It is the process of transfer water out of the atmosphere and returned it back by:
Evaporation, transpiration, precipitation
Categorize water pollutants and how to regulate them
Point sources: regulating the flow
Non-point sources: regulating the point sources
Watershed approach
It is a system to provide water quality, it solves water quality problems such as nitrogen or other contaminants
Reason for dead Zone's lack of oxygen
There is to much nitrogen in the water, that is the principal reason. It causes algal bloom which decreases the oxygen of the zone and causes death of the ecosystem.
Why water has unusual properties?
Because its polar covalent bonds. Oxygen has a larger electro negativity than hydrogen, so the electron pairs are pulled closed to the oxygen atom given it a partial negative charge
Why acid rain
Acids produced from the oxides of nitrogen and sulphur that fall during rain decreases the ph to values low as 4 or even less
How agricultural irrigation affects water quality?
It increases mineral content, temperature, turgidity, color taste, nutrients, nitrate concentration because of the fertilization, toxicity by pesticides and herbicides
